The younger generation is changing the way wine is being consumed and has taken it from it being an elite, special-occasion-only drink to an everyday drink. Barefoot is really focusing on positioning itself as the friendly wine that welcomes wine newbies and the casualness of drinking socially without a celebratory reason. Being a 26 year old I can say that this is true. I have seen more “wine bars” pop up in young neighborhoods and hearing “let’s grab some wine later” is not out of the ordinary. Wine is not replacing anything; it is simply joining the other beverages as socially acceptable for a Tuesday evening.
