A Gift That Utah Is Giving Its Children

Utah educator Myriam Met designed a dual-immersion educational program and is successfully implementing it statewide, completely free, unless you consider taxes. This program is available to most Utah students. At the same time, but on the other side of the country, NY private school “Avenues” is executing the same program but different from Utah’s in that tuition here is around $40,000 a year. These programs are “spreading like wildfire,” and other states are likely to follow suit.

While there’s a growing interest in diversity in education, there’s still a lot of work to do to get our current education system on par with what Americans are seeing in and outside the classroom.
