Good, old Willy’s work has been translated into every major language and now we have one more ‘language’ to add to the list. The El Henry performance was a collaboration between La Jolla Playhouse and the San Diego REPertory Theatre. Having some knowledge about Shakespeare’s Henry plays helps when viewing, especially since the setting and characters are all futuristic. Chicanos are not to be mistaken with ‘the Hispanics’ and language is a key differentiator. The predictions made on how San Diego will be ran in 2045 are very insightful, making anyone ponder about the near future and cultural diffusion.
