Really Black and Really Beautiful

Feeling unbeautiful is so much driven by the images we see on TV, print and really everywhere around us. Pale skin valued over dark skin, light eyes over brown eyes. Oscar winner Lupita Nyongo, “dark as night,” confesses to an audience that she too felt inadequate and pleaded with God to make her lighter, but as she learned herself, and seeks to teach others, “You can’t eat beauty, it doesn’t feed you, beauty is not a thing that you acquire or consume, it’s something that you just have to be.” Catch the full article and video here.
