A Spanish-language version of mobile payment technology used by retailers like Starbucks and Whole Foods Market is specifically targeting Hispanics. Square makes small square devices that read credit or debit cards and transfer the information to a mobile phone for processing. The U.S. Census Bureau reports that Hispanics launched about 20 percent of new businesses in 2013, and if you want to remain the disruptive credit card processor in the industry, you’ll obviously want to fish where the fish are.
