The messaging sector in tech is a complicated place, hands down. Was there a reason why Facebook bought WhatsApp after having acquired Beluga a few years before? Is there a better way to build an SMS platform? We have come a long way from the pre-iPhone era when we had to connect to MSN Messenger and be at a desktop to chat. BBM came and blew the idea of being offline out of the water. You were always connected and messaging became more intimate, but only for Blackberry users. This sentiment has carried over to messaging apps with better capabilities and broader reach. In tech, ideas evolve quickly. Who would have guessed that four years later we would be in a world where you can message your friends in hundreds of ways, including a Snapchat? It’s all about delivering a better platform to consumers.
