The World Wide Web turned 25, and you weren’t invited to the Birthday Party. (Or perhaps the invitation was swallowed up by your spam filter). It’s only by taking a retrospective look back that you can see how truly far it’s come from its crudest, earliest days up to the massive (and massively profitable) slick Web 2.0 (3.0?) of today. All in the relative blink of an eye. It’s also worth reemphasizing that Millennials, some of whom are probably at work at your office right now, have no idea how astounding this is. To them, the Web is like air: it’s always just been there. Happy Birthday.
