Dieste brings award-winning creative director Ciro Sarmiento to the agency’s creative group DALLAS, NY, July 16, 2013 –– Leading Hispanic advertising agency Dieste Inc. has hired Ciro Sarmiento as Executive Creative Director, officially starting on July 1. Ciro will report to Dieste’s Chief Creative Officer, Paco Olavarrieta, and will work across all the agency’s current clients. According to agency CEO, Greg Knipp, Dieste’s double-digit pace of growth over the last three years demanded an increase in senior executives. “We are going through very exciting moments at our agency, and I’m glad to have Ciro with us,” says Mr. Knipp, who had the opportunity to work with Mr. Sarmiento in the past when they both were at Omnicom’s Hispanic agency Latinworks. With over 10 years of experience in the U.S. in both the multicultural and general markets, as well as international experience in Latin America, Ciro Sarmiento is currently one of the most talented and respected creative directors in the U.S. “Ciro has a very unique set of skills, having worked for world-renowned agencies, such as Ogilvy & Mather and Leo Burnett and with almost every category in the business. He will compliment our creative team’s expertise perfectly,” says Paco Olavarrieta. Ciro Sarmiento’s creative work has been recognized across the globe, and his extensive list of awards includes two Lions at the Cannes Festival: a Gold Lion, the first Cannes Gold Lion in a campaign category for the entire U.S. Hispanic market, and a Bronze Lion awarded this year for a print campaign developed for P&G. “We want to produce great work for our clients consistently, and we are confident that Ciro fits the profile of the creative we are looking for. He has demonstrated consistently great work not only though awards but also by all the great number of projects that he developed to his clients,” says the chairman of the agency, Tony Dieste. “I’ve always had deep respect for agencies that are able to adapt while still keeping their culture intact. I believe that Dieste has that ability; they have the infrastructure and the talent to start developing game-changing work for their clients. My goal is to leverage the creative work in parallel with the great strategic- and business- thinking Dieste is known for. I’m more than honored to join the team, ” says Ciro Sarmiento.
