The true democratization of fashion. A lot is being said now about the democratization of fashion, about how fashion has lost its true meaning, about how fast fashion is only creating more sameness while visually and environmentally polluting our world. One would’ve thought that making style accessible to everyone would make everyone happier…but it’s not. “Real style is a matter of taste. And taste is a matter of experience.” This is what should be happening right now, each person expressing themselves through fashion as a reflection of their different experiences in life. In essence, consumers are showing signs of getting bored with having easy access to fashionable styles. One solution could be to create more meaningful experiences at the retail level, such that would add value to the moment of purchase and the item itself, instead of being just another fast fashion item.
